We place the final crown on your implant so you can get back to a complete, natural-looking smile.

What Is a Dental Implant Restoration?

A dental implant has two main parts: the implant post (a titanium screw that is surgically placed in the jawbone) and the restoration (the visible crown that goes on top). At Manzanita Dental Group, we place the crown portion of the implant.

If you need the implant post placed, we will refer you to a trusted oral surgeon or periodontist in the area. Once the implant has integrated with the bone and healed, typically over several months, you come back to us for the final crown.

  1. Dr. Sandhu checks the implant post and surrounding tissue to confirm healing is complete
  2. An impression or scan is taken to create your custom crown
  3. The crown is fabricated and returned from the lab
  4. The crown is attached to the implant abutment and checked for fit and bite

Is an Implant Right for You?

Implants are not right for every situation. Adequate bone density, good overall health, and a commitment to oral hygiene are important factors. If you have a missing tooth and want to explore your options, Dr. Sandhu can review your X-rays and give you an honest assessment, including whether dentures may be a better fit.

We welcome patients from Carmichael and nearby communities including Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Arden-Arcade, and the Sacramento 95841 area.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

We place the crown restoration. The implant post (the part that goes into the bone) requires a surgical procedure that we refer to a specialist. We coordinate the process and complete the final step.

The full process, from post placement to final crown, typically takes between three and six months. Most of that time is waiting for the implant to integrate with the bone, not active treatment.

No. Placing the crown on a healed implant is straightforward and does not require anesthesia for most patients.

The same way you care for natural teeth. Brush twice a day, floss around the implant daily, and keep up with your regular cleanings. Implants can still accumulate plaque and the surrounding tissue can still develop gum disease.

Contact us right away at (916) 333-3700. We will assess the situation and arrange for repair or replacement as needed.
